I created this page because I needed a place to start sorting through all of the resources I was finding while doing my research for my Masters in Human Sexuality (with a focus on Asexuality). The other reason for starting this site was that there are a lot of great websites and research on the subject of asexuality and I wanted an easy way to share all that I was finding with my fellow sexologists, since many of my colleagues (never mind the professors!) don’t think asexuality is real (or that it exists only as a disorder that needs to be cured).
I am currently studying at the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, working on my Masters in Human Sexuality (research focus on asexuality) and then my Doctor of Education in Human Sexuality (or maybe a DHS or PhD… the prereqs are all the same so far, we’ll see what I end up doing…).
If you’re not familiar with the term “sexologist” it is the scientific study of human sexuality including attitudes and behaviors from various perspectives including medical, historical, philosophical, psychological, etc. If you’re not familiar with the term “asexual” it is an orientation label that indicates that you don’t experience sexual attraction.
Whether you’re here because you’re asexual or because you’re a sexologist (or none of the above) I hope you’ll find what you’re looking for!
